Born and raised in Mexico City, González Nieves is an entrepreneur with a career dedicated to the tequila industry and was named by Fortune and Food & Wine magazine as one of “The Most Innovative Women in Food & Drink” in 2015.

González Nieves’ extensive knowledge of the industry, coupled with her vision to revolutionize the category of tequila, led her on a journey to create Tequila Casa Dragones. In 2009, the company debuted Tequila Casa Dragones Joven, a rare blend of 100% Blue Agave silver and extra aged tequila, made especially for sipping and pairing with food. In 2014, Casa Dragones expanded its collection with Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco, a 100% Pure Blue Agave silver tequila, crafted especially to be enjoyed on the rocks or in craft cocktails.

She is also one of the founding professors for the first university course "Técnico Tequilero" at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara with the mission of creating an educational platform to better prepare new generations to enter the tequila category and further develop the Tequila appellation of Origin.

Prior to co-founding Casa Dragones, González Nieves, spent ten years as a top executive for Grupo Jose Cuervo, the world’s leading tequila company. There she led the brand’s global initiatives and was responsible for global innovation including the company’s portfolio of products. Previously, Bertha served as a consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton.
